UCW
U.C.W. (UNITED CHURCH WOMEN)
The purpose of the United Church Women is to unite all women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which they may express their loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service.
The core Executive of U.C.W. is as follows:
- President: Bernice Kress 274-9482
- Treasurer: Joyce Zub 274-3979
- Secretary: Betty Ann LaRocque 274-9593
General meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 1:30 in the Church kitchen. All are invited to attend.
There are three member Units to carry out the work of U.C.W. Unit meeting dates and locations are contained in the Community at Work/Stewardship Action section of the weekly Order of Service handed out on Sundays.
U.C.W. raises funds by hosting events during the year. A Spring Tea is held in May, a Pie and Dessert Sale in June and a Christmas Bazaar and Luncheon in November. In addition, luncheons held after Church service generates funds. Monies raised are used to assist in Church renovations and to support a number of charitable organizations.
You would be most welcome to join one of our U.C.W Units - just contact Bernice, Joyce or Betty Ann and they would be very happy to connect you with a Unit. We would welcome any and all helping hands at our functions: whether making dainties or serving tea and coffee at them, simply contact any of our Executive Members or the Church Office (274-4543) if this is a ministry with which you can help.
