Summer Worship

During the April 3rd Worship Committee meeting, members had a discussion on whether we should continue worship services on Thursday evenings during July and August.  All members present were in agreement that worship should continue on Thursday evenings for the following reasons:

 

• Staff burnout- gives our Church staff (Minister, Administrative Assistant, organist etc.) an opportunity to have some weekends to enjoy with their family so they can return revitalized in the Fall (remembering that the Minister also has many more weddings during the summer months).
• Invitation to our lake community (who are often at their cabins on weekends) to join us for worship
• Attendance has often been more on Thurs. evening worship than Sunday morning worship during the summer months
• Easier to get pulpit supply when necessary
• Opportunities for varied worship experiences- potluck & worship, worship with campers at Sunny Cove

 

July- 7, 14, 21, 28

August- 4, 11, 18, 25 (no Sunday worship on Aug. 28)
